Q: What is Rawkstars? [+] Rawkstars is a nonprofit corporation which helps kids through music programs.
Q: Who qualifies to join Rawkstars? [+] Kids ages 4-21 who live in Massachusetts and have in interest in music.
Q: What does it cost? [+] Nothing. All Rawkstars programs are offered free of charge to individual students. Group music programming or similar partnerships may include shared expenses and will be evaluated on a case by case basis during the pilot phase.
Q: I’m a music teacher or other business professional. Can I donate my time and services to Rawkstars? [+] Yes. All Rawkstars instructors are evaluated to ensure their competency and the highest level of professional standards. If we have a need and you fit the bill, we will match you with a student. If you’re an accountant, lawyer, grant writer or other service based volunteer we can probably use your help too. Contact us at your convenience to discuss your individual situation.
Q: Where is Rawkstars based? [+] Rawkstars runs a *virtual office*; meaning it has no set physical location. As such, we are able to offer programming to a wide range of students. If you live in Massachusetts, we can probably support programming in your area.
Q: Do you accept donations of used or new instruments? [+] Absolutely! Most Rawkstars students will receive a new instrument upon their enrollment in our program. We will match your donation with an appropriate student as the need arises. If we cannot utilize them directly, we may also donate instruments to like minded organizations to put them in the hands of a kid who needs them.
Q: It all sounds too good to be true, what’s the catch? [+] There is no catch, but students are required to submit to a comprehensive application process and ongoing evaluation to determine eligibility. Students, their sponsors, instructors and other individuals will be contacted regularly to keep us informed about your progress.
